A native of San Diego, California, Brooke Marais is a qualified and experienced Yoga Instructor (E-RYT), trained by Simon Low (Hatha, Yin & Yang), and The Yoga Academy in the UK, accredited by both the British Wheel of Yoga and Yoga Alliance. Brooke is a STOTT PILATES®-Certified Instructor, Titleist Performance Institute (TPI)-Certified Golf Fitness Instructor, Reiki Practitioner (Level II) and The MELT Method® Hand and Foot Instructor. Brooke has worked with corporate bankers, politicians, Seniors, professional athletes, and ‘weekend warriors’, alike, but Beginners remain her favorite group to teach! Though she has studied with many internationally renowned teachers, Brooke remains particularly inspired by healer, Julia Shepherd, Yoga teachers Julie Gudmestad, P.T. (Iyengar) and Norman Blair (Yin, Ashtanga Vinyasa), and Marshall Eklund (STOTT PILATES). She is also a graduate of the University of California, San Diego, and Goldsmiths College, University of London.
Integrating her keen interest in human anatomy and biomechanics, and experience as an athlete and dancer, Brooke's STOTT PILATES Matwork & Equipment, and Yoga classes are fun as well as safe! All classes include precise attention to physical alignment, modifications or advancements, breathwork, and relaxation, as appropriate for each student's needs.
It is one of Brooke's greatest intentions to help others realize healthier, more balanced lives through her teaching. She often works in conjunction with her sports physical therapist husband. They divide their time between Palm Beach, Florida, and North San Diego County.
